The Fast and the Furious is a franchise of an American media focused on an action film series that is mainly concerned with heists, illegal street racing, and spy.

Also, the franchise consists of short films, live shows, a television series, and attractions of the theme park. Universal Pictures distributes it.

In 2001, the foremost film was released, which started the unique trilogy of films centered on racing, and concluded in the self-contained film The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift (2006).

Subsequently, the series went through a soft reboot with Fast & Furious (2009), which converted the series towards spying and heists, and ended with The Fate of the Furious (2017).

There is a plan to release two final films in 2020 and 2021.

The series was expanded by Universal to include the spinoff film Hobbs & Shaw (2019), while its subordinate DreamWorks Animation pursued this with Fast & Furious: Spy Racers, the animated series on web television.
